Default Shield Stance: question about wording

Does shield stance block all incoming attacks (including skills), or when it says attacks is it referring only to auto-attack. And if it's auto-attack only would it apply to all types (melee, arrows, wands, etc).

TIA

Shield Stance = 75% chance to block attacks.
Wand attacks, Melee Attack, Bow Attacks. (Includes skills like Penetrating Blow, Punishing Shot, Hammer Bash and such.)

That's probably because you were moving. Defensive stances have no effect on things like Lightning Orb or Flare (otherwise they'd be rigged).
